This is an actual letter slipped under the door of our Executive Director, Vern Rickert.
Hi! My name is Staci and I am in your Independent Living Program. I just wanted to say thank you so much for this opportunity. Before I came here, I tried to commit suicide because I was raped by my step-father. I feel like your program has given me a new fresh start and a reason to live. The things that your program does for young people are so wonderful and I hope some day I will be able to give to someone what you guys have given to me. I am so excited about how my life is going to be when I leave here. This is only my second week here and you guys have done so much. To be honest, I haven't had any one go the extra mile for me and you guys have shown me that people do care about me and I do count. I now believe that God has a special plan for me and no matter what, he is always going to be here for me and always help me out.I just don't know how to thank you enough. I feel so blessed because you guys have given me a second chance in life. I feel this program is so wonderful and so awesome and I feel that every one who works for this program is my angel for the great God. It's so neat that you guys just started taking girls. You guys think of so many new things and keep growing. That is so cool and I promise you that since I was given this opportunity I am not going to mess this up. It's time that I think for myself and stop worrying about what other people want me to do. So I needed this opportunity and I know I keep saying it, but THANK YOU!!! You guys are so awesome.
Yours truly,
Staci
