Equine Program Participates in Historical Marker Ceremony

The Equine Program was asked to partipate in the dedication of Historical Marker located in front of the Lowes on Bashford Manor Lane. The marker is for Alonzo "Lonnie" Clayton. Lonnie was an African American jockey who won the Kentucky Derby at age 15 riding for the Bashford Manor Farm.

Our program brought a horse and one of our students in the Equine Job Training Program represented Lonnie Clayton.

The great-grandson of George Long (owner of Bashford Manor Farm), John Peabody, took a picture with Rich.
