For the fourth straight year, Mentor Program participants attended the Kosair Shrine Circus at Broadbent Arena! The annual Circus took place from February 5th-8th and included 10 performances. The Mentor Program attended the February 7th morning show thanks to a donation of 75 tickets.
The two hour Kosair Shrine Circus is performed by George Carden Circus International and features several international and domestic acts. This year, the audience enjoyed tigers from Germany, high vaulting spring-boarders from Romania, and performing dogs from Great Britain. Larry Carden’s Circus
Elephants are always a crowd favorite, as are the antics of the musical clowns. The audience also gasped as they watched tight-rope walkers and high-flying acrobats perform overhead.
As usual, the Circus was a special highlight for many of our youth and mentors. Everyone had a great time as glow-sticks and laughter filled the arena from start to finish! Tickets are made available to Boys’ Haven each year through donations by area businesses. Last year, thanks to these local givers, Kosair was able to provide 22,000 free tickets to underprivileged children, Boy
and Girl Scout troops, as well as church groups and nursing home patients.
Boys’ Haven would like to extend a special thanks to the following businesses for providing tickets to the Mentor Program:
