Bardstown City Schools



Thomas Hayes left Bowling Green in 1981 and moved to Louisville to work for a Vestal Laboratories. From February to July of 1981 lived in Louisville. He then transferred to Cincinnati and lived there till 1997. While in Cincinnati he was working in sales. The last three years there, he bought into a rhythm and blues bar and restaurant called Japps and Stoews. While living in Cincinnati, he served on the Board of Directors of William’s YMCA on McMillan Street.



Tom moved back in to this area in 1997. He joined the Downtown YMCA, was appointed to their Facilities and Grounds Committee and then later to their Board of Directors. For this year’s Spirit Campaign, he was the #1 volunteer in raising money.



Tom currently teaches high school level special education in the Bardstown City Schools. He also runs the resource room where students can come to catch up if they are falling behind on subjects.



Mr. Hayes holds an associate degree in business from Western Kentucky University.
