Monday, May 7, 2007 Boys' Haven officially opened its' Equine Program with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the stable. Archbishop Thomas Kelly was on hand to do his first blessing of a stable. A letter was read from Kentucky Congressman John Yarmuth's office and a proclamation from Louisville Metro Mayor, Jerry Abramson.
The ribbon was cut by the first graduation class of the equine program and Jay Wilkinson, Equine Program Manager.
The stable was built by Jay Wilkinson, the first class of the equine program, chief volunteers, Dale Perronteau and John Leist, and several other volunteers.
Major funding was received from Kentucky Equine Education Project, Kentucky Foster Youth Transition Assistance, Community Foundation of Louisville and the Al and Guy Campisano Family Trust.
