At Boys and Girls Haven, we believe in changing lives. We believe in healing and resiliency. We believe our youth do not have to be defined by the scars left by abuse and neglect.
Too many children aging out of foster care find themselves adrift in adulthood with limited resources and nowhere to turn for help. Not surprisingly, one in five emancipated foster you will go on to experience homelessness, one in four will encounter the criminal justice system within two years, and about half will be unemployed by age 24.
At Boys and Girls Haven, our vision is to provide struggling youth with a home and a future. Since 1948, we have done just that for more than 5,000 abandoned, abused and neglected young people by providing stability, education, and life skills that lead to success in adulthood. Boys and Girls Haven employs a multifaceted, therapeutic approach including residential care, foster care, and independent living programs, independence readiness life skills training, preventative community-based services, and a variety of other programs and services.
